Crew 797 Announcements

We're going backpacking Saturday, Sept 22. (remember backpacking?) It'll be an overnight trip into north Georgia, route to be determined. Invite your Venturing age friends. We're going to have a lot of fun.

Put Saturday, September 8 on your calendar for Venturing Officer Breifing, 9:00am -3:00pm at the Mt. Zion Scout Lodge. This is a great course. It'll help you to understand how a crew is supposed to work. If you attend you will be making your Venturing Crew stronger, which we'd all appreciate.

Scout Expo is Saturday, November 17 . We'll be sharing a booth with Crew 795 that'll be kind of a "This is Venturing" theme. We'll have displays for activities ranging from sailing, backpacking, scuba, canoing, etc. We'll also need your participation. We'll be having a planning meeting Sunday, August 9, at 7:00pm and we could use some help brainstorming. Please let me know if you'd like to get involved.

Crew Officer Elections will be Monday, August 20. We'll need to elect a President, Vice Presidents for Program and Administration, a Secretary and a Treasurer. This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen your leadership skills and build on the foundation you laid in Boy Scouts.

Don't forget to visit the BRAG site (www.brag.org). Tell your friends about the ride. Invite them to the next training ride. And, by all means, block out June 7-14, 2008 on your calendar.
